Course
Objectives
This course is designed to develop students' knowledge of Japan and for them to learn and communicate in English about various aspects of the country. The course will enable students to deepen their understanding of Japanese issues while improving their English skills through reading, writing, listening discussing and giving presentations.

Contents
The course will cover topics such as Japanese geography, hisoty, politics, economy, language, tradicional and modern culture. For each topic, students are required to read assigned text, do research as necessary, and share and present information they gather. Also, they will engage in discussions, make presentations and write reaction papers and/or response journals.

For example, students are requried to do some research on the lesson topic and read assigned materials before class, write sentences/paragraphs before or after class, and prepare for individual or group presentations inside and outside or class. Students are required to finish all tasks within the assigned time.
