Objectives
This course is designed to improve students’ communication skills and comprehension skills through watching, discussing and writing about movies.

内容
Course
Contents
We will use handouts in the first part of the class to become familiar with new language related to movies. Then we will review the scene(s) from the previous week. Finally, we will watch a section of a movie and discuss the scene(s) using discussion questions. We will discuss not only plot or characters of the movie but other themes central to the movie which could be cultural issues, social issues, family relations, politics, or historical facts, among others. The final project will be a film review on a movie of the students’ choice.

Students will keep a weekly movie journal. For this, students must summarize the plot, describe scenes, discuss central themes in the movie and express their opinion as well as list new vocabulary learned from the movie.
