異なる文化圏の果実を受容する方法には翻案と翻訳の2種がある。前者は基盤とする文化コード「を」享受者側「に」合わせ、後者は基盤とする文化コード「に」享受者側「が」合わせる。グローバル化が浸透してきた現在、文化コードの相違は相対的に小さくなり、「異なる文化」はメディアのレベルになりつつある。メディアごとの文法は、文化圏間移動における文化コードと同じなのか。異なるメディアの果実の受容方法について考え、理解する。

There are two methods to reap the fruit of different cultural regions, namely adaptation and translation. The former involves making the cultural code match the recipient and the latter involves the recipient accommodating the cultural code. In this present age of widespread globalization, there is comparatively less variation in cultural code, and different cultures gradually appear only in the media. Whether the grammar of each media and the cultural code transferred between cultural regions are the same or not? This course will help students to think about and understand the ways in which different media reap the fruit of culture.

あるメディアによって生み出された果実を、異なるメディアが移植する際に、どのような方法が用いられるのか、またメディア変換によって何が変わり、何は変わらないのか。本科目では、舞台作品が異なるジャンルの舞台作品に移植される場合と、2次元を3次元に変換する場合の2通りをサンプルに、描かれる物語に注目してこの問題を考える。

What methods are used when fruit produced by a particular media is transferred to a different media? Also, what changes and what remains the same after the fruit is transferred to a different media? In this course, we will focus on the stories depicted in works and think about the questions mentioned above through the issues faced when a theatrical production is transformed into a different genre of stage production, and also when two dimensions are converted into three dimensions.

・フィールドワークを2回行う。早稲田大学、NHK放送博物館への交通費は自己負担になる。
・取り上げるマンガは初回オリエンテーションの際に提示するので、事前に読んでおいてほしい。
・外部ゲストを招聘する回も設ける予定。
・回によって視聴する映像の長さにより、授業終了が昼休みにかかる場合が想定される。オリエンテーションの際に具体的にアナウンスする。
