Course
Objectives
In this course students will explore theoretical concepts and subjects concerning cultural studies in contemporary South Korea. Students are asked to familiarize themselves with conceptual tools and critically examine media discourse and representation to better understand issues arising from security, gender, race, and class dynamics in South Korean society.

Contents
This is an intensive discussion-oriented course, in which students are expected to read academic journal articles, write summaries, present individually/as a group, react to media products, participate in classwork, and actively discuss theoretical concepts, observations, and opinions every week.
