Contents
The course is designed for students at intermediate to advanced levels of English. Students will develop their abilities to use key terminology in psychology and academic research more broadly, and to express their opinions on research topics. The course is intended to develop students' understanding of the principles of psychology research & experimental design and to help them critically evaluate existing research. Each week there will be a topic of research introduced and this will be followed by group discussions and short in-class exercises. In the final weeks of the course, students will work to produce a short final presentation (15 mins) on a research topic of their choice. By the end of the course students should have improved their understanding of research practices, current debates in psychology, and be better at discussing their opinions in English. There will also be the option for students to engage in short research projects as part of the course.
