キリスト教礼拝、ことに聖公会の礼拝についての基礎的な知識を習得し、現代における礼拝行為、ひいては宗教の意味を考える。

To acquire a basic knowledge of Christian worship, especially Anglican worship, and consider the meaning of acts of worship, and thus religion, in the modern world.

礼拝を考える上で前提となる概念や行為についての概説と、キリスト教礼拝の特徴となる要素についての学びから始める。その後、キリスト教礼拝の各論としてのいくつかの礼拝、特に聖餐式（ミサ）について学ぶ。
具体的には西方教会（特に聖公会）の内容が中心となるが、それに限定されるものではない。

We will begin with an overview of the concepts and practices that are prerequisites for considering worship, and a study of the elements that characterize Christian worship. After that, we will study some of the forms of Christian worship, especially the Holy Eucharist (Mass).
The course will focus on Western Christianity (especially the Anglican Church), but will not be limited to it.

毎回課すリアクションペーパーへの応答を授業内で行いつつ、授業内容にも反映させる。 Responses to the reaction paper assigned for each lecture will be made in class and reflected in the course content.

可能な範囲で、キリスト教礼拝を具体的に体験することを強く勧めたい。講義や動画等では触れられない「雰囲気」を知ることは、この授業での学びに大変有意義である。

It is highly recommended to experience Christian worship as much as possible. Knowing its "atmosphere" that cannot be felt in lectures or videos is very meaningful for learning in this class.
