Course Objectives

- Develop a long-term and broad perspective through learning history.
- Deepen an understanding of different cultures by learning different worlds.
- Develop information literacy through reading and interpreting historical sources and records.
- Become able to think critically by learning diverse views on history and the world.

Course Contents

The present is built upon the past, and learning history is extremely important in understanding the origins of the modern world. Since the subject covers world history from ancient times to the modern world, the aim is not to gain detailed knowledge. Rather, by gaining an overall picture of history, we will aim toward learning a historical way of looking at things and developing a diverse understanding of the modern world. Students will submit several small reports during the semester.
