Course Objectives
How can today's humanity, which has advanced into outer space, deciphered the genome, and developed the Internet and AI technology, think about the issue of God and the meaning of human life? By looking at how Western thought in the 20th century considered the problem of God and the problem of religion, we will consider what religion means to people today and how we should deal with the problem of religion or faith.
Course Contents
In a modern age that has been called "a Godless age," how have Western thinkers approached questions of religion and faith? The course will take up and introduce several thinkers from the 20th century and later, focusing on their religious ideas.

20世紀の西欧思想が、神の問題、宗教の問題をどう考えたかをみることで、今日の人間にとって宗教と何か、宗教、あるいは信仰の問題とどう向き合うべきかを考える。

「神なき時代」と言われる現代において，欧米の思想家たちは宗教や信仰の問題をどのように考えてきたのか。２０世紀以降の思想家を数人取り上げ、その宗教思想を中心に紹介する。

想家の著作や関連する文献を多く紹介するので、各自が興味をもったものを自分で読み、理解を深めていっていただきたい。また、毎回の授業で問いが設定され、授業はその問いにそって展開されるので、授業後に各自この問いに対する答えを作成しておくとポイントがつかみやすい。
