Course Objectives
We will complete the basic grammar of Biblical Hebrew, and learn skills for using dictionaries to read actual Biblical texts in Hebrew.
Course Contents
The course is the second stage of Basic Biblical Hebrew, not intended for complete beginners. Students are required to have taken the first stage course "Hebrew 1" of the spring semester. The course will give students as much opportunity as possible
to read actual texts of Hebrew Bible, while learning the basics of the grammar. Homework will be assigned as appropriate. While reviewing grammar points that have already been learned, students will learn skills for using dictionaries, and will improve by gradually building up experience. This course will also introduce some topics of modern Hebrew used as a daily language in modern Israel, and will teach its simple, practical phrases.

初級文法の学習を終わらせ、独力で辞書を引く方法を学び、実際の聖書テクストを読む技術を習得する。

授業の内容 / Course Contents
春学期の「ヘブライ語１」の履修を前提とし、完全な初学者は対象としない。引き続き初級文法を学びながら、できるだけ多く旧約聖書の原典に触れる機会をもつ。随時、宿題・課題の提出などを課す。既習の文法事項の復習も行いながら、辞書を引くテクニックを学び、少しずつ経験を積んでいくことで上達を目指す。現代のイスラエルで用いられている日常語としてのヘブライ語との関係も紹介し、簡単な実用語なども学んでいく。
