Course Objectives
This lecture is for those who want to know and learn about the history of the Japanese language to master introductory knowledge. We will provide an overview of the diachronic history of each field: phonology, writing, grammar, and vocabulary, and lecture on the changes that have occurred. Through this class, we aim to be able to understand the history of the Japanese language in the simplest possible way.
Course Contents
Language has several aspects. First, words are spoken through sounds, and are expressed using words that combine sounds (phonology) and meanings based on the rules of grammar. In contrast to spoken language, in written language, the sounds and words are represented by letters. In other words, it can be broadly divided into phonology, characters, grammar, and vocabulary. In order to make it easier to understand the changes in each field, rather than dividing them into eras, we will provide an overview of the history of the Japanese language by field.

授業の目標 / Course Objectives
本講義は日本語の歴史について知りたい、学びたい方のための入門知識をマスターしてもらうものです。音韻、文字、文法、語彙という分野ごとに、それぞれの通時的な歴史を概観して、その変遷の様相を講義します。この授業を通じて日本語の歴史を最も簡潔に把握できることを目指します。
This lecture is for those who want to know and learn about the history of the Japanese language to master introductory knowledge. 授業の内容 / Course Contents
言語はいくつかの側面があります。まず、音によってことばが語られ、その音（音韻）と意味とが結びついた語（単語）を用い、文法という規則に基づいて表現されます。話し言葉に対して、書き言葉では、その音や語が文字によって書き表わされます。つまり、大きく音韻・文字・文法・語彙という分野にわけることができます。それぞれの分野でどのような流れをもっているのか、時代別に区切るのではなく、それ自体の変遷をよりわかりやすくするために、本講義では分野別で日本語の歴史を概観していきます。

歴史的事項を扱うため、高等学校までに学ぶ日本史の知識は必須である。未履修の者は、随時自学自習にて補うこと。講義には予習を以て臨み、復習を通じて理解を深めること。講義で触れられる部分は限られているため、図書館を活用した幅広い独習が求められる。
