Course Objectives

Students will study the theory, history, and actual conditions of industry in order to realize the Graduate School of Economics' curricular policy: "On the basis of general and specialized education, study the economy, economic policy, accounting, and management, and pursue their depths, while cultivating character and contributing to the advancement of culture on the basis of Christianity.
There is wealth of cumulative researches that analyze industries. Industry refers to broad concept placed amidst individual company and overall economy. Because of that, there have been many cumulative researches. In Industrial Economics 2, students will read through empirical studies focusing on design and brands.

Course Contents

Students will first read articles on design management and brand management published in Research Policy, Journal of Brand Management, and other journals. After that, we will read papers on specific industries published in Business History, etc. in order to understand the significance of the papers.
