Course Objectives
To understand agriculture and related industries from the perspective of food system approach, students will examine and discuss the actual status of agricultural production and food distribution systems by each item, the actual status of food chains and related operations that create various added values, and the labeling and certification systems.
Course Contents
In agriculture, building a value chain from farm to table is a key to success. In addition, many related food industries is creating many business opportunities. On the one hand, they are oriented towards globalization, but on the other hand, they are oriented towards localization, which is their strength and creates high value. In this course, students will examine trends in agriculture and related industries from a food system perspective, and understand actual issues.

授業の目標 / Course Objectives
農業および関連産業についてフードシステム学の視点から把握し理解する。そのため，品目ごとの農産物・食品流通の実態，さまざまな付加価値を生み出すフードチェーンおよび関連作業の実態，表示・認証制度等の意義について検証し議論する。

授業の内容 / Course Contents
農業では，生産から消費にいたるバリューチェーンの構築が鍵となっている。また関連産業がさまざまに展開することで多くのビジネス機会を生み出している。一方でグローバル化を指向することがあるが，他方でローカル化が強みとなり高い価値を生み出している。本授業では，農業および関連産業の動向をフードシステムの視点でとらえ，課題や論点について検討し議論する。
