Course Objectives

To understand agriculture and related industries from the perspective of food system approach, students will examine and discuss the actual status of agricultural production and food distribution systems by each item, the actual status of food chains and related operations that create various added values, and the labeling and certification systems.

Course Contents

In agriculture, building a value chain from farm to table is a key to success. In addition, many related food industries is creating many business opportunities. On the one hand, they are oriented towards globalization, but on the other hand, they are oriented towards localization, which is their strength and creates high value. In this course, students will examine trends in agriculture and related industries from a food system perspective, and understand actual issues.
