Course Objectives
The goal is to understand how companies' choices in accounting policy and disclosure affect the function of financial accounting, and to derive insights for institutional design through an understanding of accounting standards and financial reporting theories.
Course Contents
We will examine the process through which companies make choices regarding accounting policy and disclosure while learning about the impact of these choices on the information-providing and stakeholder alignment functions expected of financial accounting. Furthermore, by deepening our understanding of accounting standards and financial reporting system theories, we plan to consider implications for system design.

授業の目標 / Course Objectives
企業による会計処理や情報開示の選択が財務会計の機能に及ぼす影響について理解するとともに、会計基準や財務報告制度の理論を通じて、制度設計に関する示唆を得ることを目標とする。

授業の内容 / Course Contents
企業が会計処理や情報開示の選択を行うプロセスを確認しつつ、これらが財務会計に期待される情報提供機能と利害調整機能にどのような影響を与えるかを学習する。さらに、会計基準や財務報告制度の理論についても理解を深めることで、制度設計への示唆を考察する予定である。
We will examine the process through which companies make choices regarding accounting policy and disclosure while learning about the impact of these choices on the information-providing and stakeholder alignment functions expected of financial accounting.
