What does it mean to listen to or wait for the “voices” which we encounter in the fields? And what is the relationship between listening to and talking to? Making “story-telling,” which include both “listening” and “talking,” as the keyword, we will deepen thoughts about the poverty of body and words, and responsibility through reading some texts.
“Wait,” or “Listen.” How do we actually perform these actions indicated by verbs we use so frequently in daily life? In truth, might we be neglecting ‘waiting’ and “listening” without even realizing it? This lecture aims to weave together a time for us to pose this very question to ourselves. For I believe it relates to how we live our lives—considering, or perhaps not considering enough, the relationship with the “other” that these verbs presuppose. Through reading and discussing texts, we will explore the responsibility of receiving (responding for) embedded within ‘waiting’ and “listening,” concepts also significant in Christianity. Additionally, while contemplating the responsibility of responding to (responding to), we will conduct a workshop on responding to others through the expressive medium of rap poetry.

さまざまなフィールドで出会う言葉を「待つ」「聴く」とはどういうことか。また、「聴く」ことと「語る」ことはどのように関連しているのか。「聴く／語る」ことが生起する「物語」をキーワードに、いくつかのテキストの輪読を軸に、適宜、ワークショップや講義をまじえながら、わたしたちがかかえる、からだや言葉の貧困、わたしの／わたしたちの責任についての考察を深める。

「待つ」、あるいは、「聴く」。日常生活で頻繁に使うこれらの動詞が指示する行為を私たちはどのように行っているでしょうか。実は、「待つ」ことと「聴く」ことを、それと気づかず、私たちは蔑ろにしているのではないか。この講義は、この「問い」を自らに投げかける時間として紡ごうと思います。それは、これらの動詞が前提にしている「他者」との関係を、私たちがどのように考え／あまり考えずに、生を営んでいるのか、ということと関わることであると考えるからです。キリスト教にとっても重要な意味を持つ、「待つ」「聴く」に込められる受け止めること（responding for）の責任について、テクストの輪読を通して考えます。併せて、応答すること（responding to）の責任を考えながら、詩を紡ぎラップ作品の表現を通して、他者に応答するワークショップも行います。
