This overview examines the process by which Christianity, originating from Judaism, emerged as an independent religion, drawing on sources from the 1st to 3rd centuries CE.
After surveying the formation of early Christianity through its history, myth formation, ethical values, and ritual as symbolic language, we sketch its earliest historical development using Paul, the Synoptic Gospels, and the Gospel of John as guides. Finally, we examine the crises early Christianity faced, spanning Judaizing influences (1st century), Gnosticism (2nd century), prophecy (1st-2nd centuries), up to the formation of the canon.

ユダヤ教を出身母体とするキリスト教が、およそどのようなプロセスを経て、ひとつの独立した宗教として成立したかを、紀元1-3世紀の資料をとりあげつつ概観する。
This overview examines the process by which Christianity, originating from Judaism, emerged as an independent religion, drawing on sources from the 1st to 3rd centuries CE.
原始キリスト教の成立を、その歴史と神話の形成、倫理に表れる価値観、そして象徴言語としての儀礼から概観した後、その歴史的な発展の最初期を、パウロと共観福音書、ヨハネ福音書を手がかりに素描し、最後に原始キリスト教が経験した危機を、ユダヤ主義（1世紀）、グノーシス主義（2世紀）、預言（1-2世紀）を経て、正典形成まで見渡す。
