The aim of this course is to deepen your understanding of Renaissance art and to learn various perspectives on the Western art.
During the Italian Renaissance, many outstanding painters created fresco murals using the fresco technique. This lecture examines fresco murals in the Italian Renaissance from various perspectives, including the fresco technique itself, narrative expression in murals, the function of the spaces where murals were painted, and the selection of subjects, while highlighting major examples.

The aim of this course is to deepen your understanding of Renaissance art and to learn various perspectives on the Western art.
ルネサンス期のイタリアでは、多くの優れた画家たちがフレスコ技法による壁画を手がけた。この講義では、教会堂の壁画や天井画等の主要な作例を取り上げつつ、フレスコ画の技法、壁画におけるナラティブ表現、壁画が描かれる場の機能と主題選択等、様々な視点から、イタリア・ルネサンスにおけるフレスコ壁画について検討する。
