【Course Objectives】

This course aims for students to understand Japanese society through the lens of "religion." Certainly, Japanese people who belong to a particular religion are not the majority. However, they perform many forms of religious behavior in daily life. To understand this situation, students need to know the historical background. From this perspective, the course considers the relationship between modern Japanese society and religion.

【Course Contents】

To understand the relationship between modern Japanese society and religion, this course addresses the outline of the history of Japanese religion, and introduces the contemporary issues.
