The goal of this seminar is to understand the fundamental concepts and logical frameworks needed for historical research by reading English academic papers. Additionally, the course aims to improve English reading skills essential for comprehending previous scholarship.
English-language scholarship on topics of shared interest to the seminar participants will be selected and read collectively. Through this process, participants will learn how to formulate research questions, structure chapters and sections, use notes, and engage with prior literature, and will develop these methodological skills.

英語論文の購読を通じて、歴史研究に必要な基礎的な概念や論理構成を学ぶとともに、先行研究を把握するのに必要な英文読解能力を獲得することが目的である。
The goal of this seminar is to understand the fundamental concepts and logical frameworks needed for historical research by reading English academic papers. Additionally, the course aims to improve English reading skills essential for comprehending previous scholarship.
セミナー参加者が共通に興味を持てるテーマに関する英語文献を取り上げ、輪読する。論文の問題設定、章立て、節立て、註の付け方、先行文献の取り上げ方を学び、その手法を身につける。
