【Course Objectives】

Students will acquire fundamental knowledge about early modern Japanese history, and refine their ability to accurately read and understand academic papers and historical materials.

【Course Contents】

The course will take up early modern Japanese history, particularly village, region, urban, and other early modern social history that represent how people lived. In the class, students will report on specified historical materials and literature and will discuss the content overall, individually or in groups. Based on this, students will set their own themes on early modern Japanese history, and begin basic research work.
