You will learn the following basic academic methods in history:
(1) The ability to express your concerns in language.
(2) The ability to accurately summarize and critique previous research (pointing out its achievements and challenges).
(3) The ability to collect historical documents on topics of interest and perform a basic reading comprehension, as well as the ability to derive key points from the documents.
In addition, you will learn etiquette for reporting and discussion.
This will be decided in consultation with the students.
However, the class will generally be in a seminar format, with students giving individual research presentations and holding discussions after a brief guidance session.
The content of the lesson plan is only a guideline, and will be organized according to the students' themes.

以下のような歴史学における学問の基本的な手続きについて学びます。
（１）問題意識を明確に言語表現できること。
（２）先行研究を的確にまとめ、批評（成果と課題）を指摘できること。
（３）自分の関心あるテーマについての史料について、その内容を把握し、初歩的な読解ができること。
また、史料から自分のテーマを探すことができること。
あわせて報告・討論のやり方などを学びます。

ただ基本的には若干のガイダンスのあと、受講生個人の研究報告・討論を行うゼミ形式の授業とします。
