The purpose of this course is to deepen the research theme of each student on ancient Japan's history, improve the ability to read historical materials and papers, and to advance research for preliminary and graduation theses.
In the third year, students learn previous research related to their research theme, organize their issues, and read and interpret historical sources that serve as the basis for this. On top of that, students aim to acquire the ability to collect and read academic papers.
Report on each research theme based on the summary of previous research and the contents of historical materials read. Specifically
I. Students will take historical materials related to their research themes and read and understand their contents.
II. Organize previous research related to each person's research, read important papers, organize problems, create a resume, and report on it.
III. Report based on your own research theme and discuss it with all members of the seminar
Based on the above three points, we will report and discuss how to read historical materials and organize papers, and provide guidance on writing papers. In addition to the presenter, it is required to prepare for the main papers, read them, and discuss them with the presenter.
I would also like to visit historical sites and museums and hold seminar camps (scheduled for 1 or 2 times a year).

日本古代史に関する各自の研究テーマを深め，史料・論文の読解能力を高めるとともに，卒業論文予備演習や卒業論文作成に向けての研究を進めることを目的とする。
3年生の段階では，自分の研究テーマに関連する先行研究を学んで論点を整理し、その根拠となる史料を読解していく。その上で更に学術的な論文を集めて読む力を身につけることを目指す。

各自の研究テーマについて，先行研究の整理や読解した史料の内容をもとに報告を行う。具体的には，
Ⅰ 各自の研究テーマに関する史料を取り上げて，その内容を読解し理解する。
Ⅱ 各自の研究に関わる先行研究の整理や重要な論文を読み、問題点を整理してレジュメを作成して報告を行う。
Ⅲ 各自の研究テーマに基づいて報告し、ゼミ全員で討論する
以上の3点に基づき、史料の読み方や論文整理に関する報告を行って議論し、さらに論文執筆などに関する指導を行う。報告者以外も毎回の範囲に関しては、主要論文を予習して読んで報告者と議論することが求められる。
また史跡・博物館の巡見やゼミ合宿（年1，2回の予定）なども行いたい。
