The purpose of this seminar is to acquire the perspectives and methods of folklore studies while engaging with the diversity of regional cultures and ethnographies.
At the start of the fall semester, students will prepare oral presentations based on reports they individually created during summer break about folk culture exhibits at local museums and archives. Following this, after deepening their understanding of ethnography through lectures, students will form groups of two to three. Based on their interests, each group will select one ethnography from the body of Japanese folklore studies and deliver a group presentation explaining its content and significance to the rest of the class.

地域の文化と民俗誌の多様性にふれながら、民俗学の視点・方法を修得する。
The purpose of this seminar is to acquire the perspectives and methods of folklore studies while engaging with the diversity of regional cultures and ethnographies.
秋学期の最初には、夏季休暇中の課題として各自で作成した地域の博物館・資料館の民俗展示レポートに基づく口頭発表に取り組む。続いて、民俗誌について講義を通じて理解を深めたうえで、２～３人のグループに分かれ、興味に応じて日本民俗学に蓄積される民俗誌の中から一つを選び、その内容や意義を他の受講生に伝えるグループ発表を行う。
