Students will set their research themes, situate them within existing folklore and cultural anthropology research, and aim to identify the challenges and originality of their own research.
Students will give individual presentations on their research themes. In the first half of the presentation, they will examine the prior research that contextualizes their theme, clearly identifying what has been established and what remains to be clarified. This prior research should also consider adjacent fields. In the second half, based on the insights gained from reviewing prior research and their own research questions, they will refine their theme, formulate a research plan for the summer break with specific case studies in mind, and present it.

受講生は研究テーマを設定し、それを民俗学・文化人類学の先行研究に位置づけ、自らの研究の課題と独自性を見出すことを目指す。
Students will set their research themes, situate them within existing folklore and cultural anthropology research, and aim to identify the challenges and originality of their own research.
受講生の研究テーマについて個人発表を行う。前半の発表では、テーマを位置づける先行研究を検討し、これまでに明らかにされたことと未だ明らかにされていないことを明確に指摘する。先行研究は隣接領域も視野に入れる。後半は、先行研究を検討して得た知見と自らの問題意識をふまえ、あらためてテーマを練り、具体的な調査対象となる事例を念頭に置いて夏季休暇中の調査計画を立て、発表する。
