The course aims to enhance the historical materials survey and interview survey capabilities necessary for advancing research in contemporary history studies, through personal visits and observation at the sites targeted for research.
This fieldwork focuses on the history of water and daily life in post-war cities. The course will progress in three stages. First, we will read basic literature regarding the history of water and life in post-war urban environments (such as conflicts of interest over water use, local government policies and affected residents' movements). Second, we will examine primary sources by visiting archives that hold historical documents related to this theme. Third, we will conduct fieldwork at the target sites. While conducting our fieldwork, we will research the history and importance of the water use in daily life, as well as visit local museums and cultural heritage sites. The planned locations for the fieldwork are Shizuoka and Fukui Prefectures.

研究対象地に自ら赴き見聞することを通じて，現代史研究を進めていく上で必要となる史料調査・聞き取り調査に関する能力を高めることを目標とします。

本フィールドワークは、戦後の都市における水と生活の歴史を対象とします。授業は以下の３つの点について段階的に進めていきます。第一に、戦後の都市における水と生活の歴史（水利用をめぐる利害対立や自治体の政策、それに対する住民運動など）に関する基礎的文献を講読します。第二に、本テーマに関する史資料を公開している文書館を利用して、一次史料を検討します。第三に、調査対象地でのフィールドワークを実施します。フィールドワークでは、水と生活の歴史とその重要性に関して調査・研究するとともに、調査先の博物館や文化財などを見学します。調査対象地としては、静岡県と福井県を予定しています。
