The purpose of this class is to clarify the nature of beliefs and practices in the mega-cities of contemporary Japan through fieldwork related to rituals and spirituality in Toshima-ku. In addition, by conducting fieldwork on familiar things and places where we live, we aim to develop a perspective to analyze things and phenomena around us as a fieldworker.
The contents of the class can be broadly classified as follows. (1) learning the basics of fieldwork, (2) examining themes and research items through practical town walking, and (3) developing the ability to organize and analyze audiovisual and historical materials.

本授業の目的は、豊島区の祭礼・霊性にかんするフィールドワークを通じて、現代日本のメガシティにおける信仰と実践のありかたを明らかにすることにある。また、身近なものや自らが生きる場所に対してフィールドワークを行うことで、調査者として身の回りのものごとや現象を分析する視点を養うことを目指す。
