By conducting actual fieldwork on the lifestyles, societies, and cultures of people rooted in communities, collecting and empirically elucidating data, and summarizing reports based on the findings, students will learn methods for writing empirical papers.
Based on the findings of the preliminary survey performed in Field Work I1 (spring semester), the course will schedule a 5-day, 4-night program during the fall semester to perform main surveys in line with students' themes, with Okinawa (tentative) as the field site. Students will then summarize the findings in reports.

地域に根ざした人々の生活、社会、文化について実際にフィールドワークを行い、データを収集して実証的に解明し、その成果を報告書にまとめることで、実証的論文執筆の方法を習得する。
今年度は日米関係史をひとつの軸として学びながら、沖縄でのフィールドワークを実施する。

フィールドワークＩ１（春学期）の予備調査の結果をふまえて、秋学期中に4泊5日の予定で、沖縄（予定）をフィールドに各自のテーマに即して本調査を実施する。また、その成果を報告書にまとめる。

文献の収集、読解、報告準備や、報告書の作成に相応の時間を要する。
また、予備調査の調査結果（フィールドノート）を整理したり、入手した資料や統計を分析したりして、各自が本調査に向けた準備を行うこと。

この授業は、フィールドワークI1（春学期）の事前学習や予備調査の成果をもとに発展させるものである。「その他登録」であり、履修希望者はフィールドワークI1（春学期）のガイダンス時に必ず出席すること。このガイダンス時にフィールドワークI1に履修申し込みをすると、秋学期のフィールドワークI2も自動的に履修登録される。フィールドワークを実施することを考慮し、履修希望者が多数の場合には、受講者を選考することもある。
