This course covers the history of East Asia, from the historical development of East Asia from the 8th to the 11th centuries to the present day. Students will be able to understand history by acquiring the skills to view it from multiple perspectives, including Chinese and Korean history, rather than being limited to a single national historical perspective that focuses solely on Japan.
This course will cover the relationship between ancient Japan and East Asia and Northeast Asia, from the 8th century, when Japan's Ritsuryo state was established, to the 11th century, when the Eurasian world began to take shape. These relationships were not only political. The course also focuses on the cultural and economic aspects of exchange, with the goal of providing an accurate understanding of international exchange in East Asia as a whole.

日本史・中国史・朝鮮史に関心があること
8世紀から11世紀における東アジアの歴史的展開から、現代に通じる東アジアというフィールドの歴史を扱う。その際に、日本のみに視点を固定する一国史的な観点に捉われず、中国史や朝鮮史という多角的な視点から歴史を見るスキルを身に付けて歴史を理解することができるようにする。
This course covers the history of East Asia, from the historical development of East Asia from the 8th to the 11th centuries to the present day. 日本の律令国家が成立した8世紀から、ユーラシア世界形成の端緒である11世紀までの古代日本と東アジア・東北アジアとの関係を講義する。その関係は政治的なものばかりではない。交流における文化的・経済的な面にも留意し、総体として構築される東アジアの国際交流とその変化の様相を解説する。
