【授業の目標 / Course Objectives】

戦後の日本における運動の歴史的展開について理解すると同時に、現代社会に生起する諸問題についても歴史的に考える力を身につけることを目標とします。

The goal is to not only understand the historical development of movements in postwar Japan, but also to acquire the ability to think historically about various issues that arise in modern society.

【授業の内容 / Course Contents】

　アジア・太平洋戦争での敗戦から高度成長期頃までの日本近現代史研究において、運動史は重要な領域（テーマ）として存在していました。それは、戦後「革新」運動の隆盛と伴走するなかで深められた研究主体の関心（≒戦略）でもあったといえます。しかし、1980年代以降、日本社会の「保守化」や「社会主義の崩壊」などを背景に、運動史研究は一転して「冬の時代」を迎えることになりました。
　ところが、2000年代以降になると、歴史学のみならず社会学や文学などさまざまな学問領域から戦後日本の運動史への関心が高まり、従来とはまた異なるアプローチによって研究が進められるようになります。新しい世代の研究者が登場し、それまで主流だった農民運動・労働運動よりも文化運動・住民運動への注目が伺えます。新自由主義の政策と風潮が深まるなかで、人びとの連帯や「つながり」を運動の歴史のなかに見出そうとする動向といえるでしょう。
　この授業では、そうした最新の研究蓄積にもとづいて、戦後日本の歴史を運動史の視点から検討していきます。その際、とりわけジェンダーの位相にも注目しつつ、運動を担った主体やその思想に即したアプローチを試みます。

In the study of modern Japanese history from Japan's defeat in the Asia-Pacific War until the period of high economic growth, movement history was an important field (theme). It could be said that this was also the interest (≒ strategy) of the research subject that deepened in tandem with the rise of the postwar "reform" movement. However, since the 1980s, against the backdrop of the "conservatism" of Japanese society and the "collapse of socialism," movement history research has entered a "period of decline."
However, since the 2000s, interest in postwar Japanese movement history has increased not only in history but also in various academic fields such as sociology and literature, and research has been conducted using a different approach from conventional research. A new generation of researchers has appeared, and attention is being paid to cultural and resident movements rather than the peasant and labor movements that were mainstream until then. As neoliberal policies and trends deepen, this can be said to be a trend to find solidarity and "connections" between people in the history of movements.
In this class, we will use the latest research to examine the history of postwar Japan from the perspective of movement history. In doing so, we will pay particular attention to the gender aspect and attempt an approach that is in line with the actors and ideas that led the movement.
