(1) This course aims to help students understand the historical background and institutional framework of human migration around contemporary Japan and the Asian region.
(2) The purpose of this course is to help students understand the history and institutional framework of Japan's immigration control and acceptance of foreigners, and to think about the issue of "multicultural coexistence" in contemporary Japanese society.
In modern society, migration and cross-border human mobility are becoming more and more active. Also modern and contemporary Japan, a lot of people across the national(regional)border depending on the international situation and politics has moved. War is one of them. In this course, we will learn how nationalities have been forced to change due to the development of legal and political systems during and after the war. In addition, we will acquire the perspective and knowledge to understand the human rights of foreigners in modern Japanese society.

（1）近現代の日本とアジア地域をめぐる、人の移動の歴史的背景と制度的枠組みについて把握し、日本を取り
巻く国際関係、とくに東アジア地域をめぐる歴史と現状についての洞察力を養う。
（2）日本の出入国管理の制度的変遷および「外国人」の受け入れの歴史について理解し、それらの歴史性を踏まえて現代日本社会における「多文化・共生」の論点について自らが考察できるようになること。

現代の社会では、国境を越えたヒトやモノの交流がますます盛んになっています。近現代においても、国際情勢や政治状況に応じて、多くの人びとが国境を越えた移動を経験しました。その一つの契機が戦争です。本講義では、人びとのナショナリティや国籍が、国際情勢の変動や戦争に伴う法制度や政治の展開によってどのような変容を迫られたのかを、人の移動現象一引場者、移民、難民、外国人などのキーワードーを軸に学びます。それと同時に、日本がどのように「外国人」の受け入れを行い、制度的な枠組みを作り上げていたのかを学びます。人の移動から近現代日本の歴史を考えることは、「多文化・共生」などグローバル化が進む現代日本社会について考えるうえでも重要な視点となります。
