The goal is to develop the ability to gain insight into the background of modern social issues, and the awareness and attitude to think of these issues as something close to yourself and to actively get involved.
This course will focus on issues surrounding families and child-rearing in modern Japan.
In today's Japan, where declining birthrates are a problem, we will trace the social and historical changes behind this, and consider the social norms and gender issues that are contributing to it.
No prior knowledge is required, but students should be interested in thinking about modern Japanese social issues as something close to them, and be proactive and independent in their thinking.

現代の社会問題の背景を洞察する力と、それらの問題を身近なものとして考え、積極的に関わろうとする意識・姿勢を身に着けることを目標とする。

本科目では、現代の日本における家族と子育ての問題について焦点を当て、講義する。
少子化が問題視される現代の日本において、その背景にある社会的、歴史的変化を追うと共に、その要因となる社会的規範やジェンダーの問題を考察する。
事前の知識は必要としないが、現代日本の社会的問題を身近なものとして考えることに関心を持ち、積極的かつ主体的に考える姿勢が必要とされる。
