To address global environmental challenges, it is essential to take a multifaceted and comprehensive approach to understanding the complex relationships between natural environments and human societies. This course examines the diverse natural environments of Latin America and their development history, helping students develop the ability to analyze and consider solutions based on interactions between nature and people.
The course begins with an overview of the natural environments of Latin America, with a particular focus on Brazil. It then examines the diverse ecological landscapes of Brazil's major biomes and their interrelationships with the lifestyles and cultures of local people. Additionally, the course explores the livelihoods of people in the Andes, focusing on environmental changes and their impacts on local communities.

世界各地で私たちが直面している環境課題を解決するためには，地域の多様で複雑な自然環境と人間社会とのかかわりを多面的かつ総合的に理解するアプローチが必要不可欠です．この授業では，ラテンアメリカの多様な自然環境とその開発史について取り上げ，自然と人とのかかわりを踏まえた問題解決を考察する力を身につけます．

最初にラテンアメリカ，特にブラジルの自然環境について概観します．その上で，ブラジルの代表的な生物群系ごとに多様な生態空間と人々の生活・文化との関わりについて解説します．また，アンデス高地における人々の暮らしについても目を向け，自然環境の変化とその影響についても学びます．
