This lecture deals with contemporary issues related to Islam and Muslim societies, including religious faith, feminism, and history. Its aim is to cultivate a deep understanding of these issues, connect them with our own lives, to develop the thought.
In recent years, while globalization in various fields has progressed rapidly, divisions between people have become remarkable through “own nation first policy,” "immigrant exclusion," and "hate speech," etc. In this lecture, we will consider multiple phenomena related to Islam, which are often connected with the movement of such divisions. We will look at the structures, ideas, and fragments of the reality of the modern world reflected there. Through the class, we will consider what kind of era this is and what will be needed in the future.

本講義では、イスラームやムスリム社会と結びつけられてきたいくつかの現代的問題（信仰、フェミニズム、歴史）を扱う。それらを「他人事」ではなく、自らの生との関わりから理解し、より深く考察することが本講義の目標である。

近年、さまざまな分野でのグローバル化が急速に進む一方で、「自国第一主義」や「移民排斥」、「ヘイトスピーチ」等によって、人々のあいだの分断を助長する動きが顕著になっている。本講義では、そうした分断の動きとしばしば深く関連するといわれるイスラームをめぐる複数の思想や実践を取り上げ、そこに映る現代世界の構造や現実の断片を眺めていく。その作業を通して、今がどのような時代であるのか、今後何が必要になってくるのかを考えていく。
