This lecture addresses contemporary issues related to Islam and Muslim societies, such as Islamophobia, authoritarian religious discourse, and terrorism. The lecture aims to cultivate a deep understanding of these issues, connect them to our own lives, and contemplate ways to overcome them.
In recent years, globalization has progressed rapidly in various fields. However, divisions between people have also become more apparent through policies such as the "own nation first policy," "immigrant exclusion," and "hate speech." In this lecture, we will examine phenomena related to Islam that are often connected to the rise of these divisions. We will examine the structures, ideas, and aspects of reality in the modern world that are reflected in these phenomena. Throughout the lecture, we will reflect on the current era and consider what will be needed in the future.

本講義では、イスラームやムスリム社会と結びつけられてきた現代的諸問題（イスラモフォビア、宗教権威主義、テロリズム）を扱う。それらを「他人事」ではなく、自らの生との関わりから理解し、そこから脱する方法を考えることが目標である。

近年、さまざまな分野でのグローバル化が急速に進む一方で、「自国第一主義」や「移民排斥」、「ヘイトスピーチ」等によって、人々のあいだの分断を助長する動きが顕著になっている。本講義では、そうした分断の動きとしばしば深く関連するといわれるイスラームをめぐる複数の現象を取り上げ、そこに映る現代世界の構造や思想、現実の断片を眺めていく。その作業を通して、今がどのような時代であるのか、今後何が必要になってくるのかを考えていく。
