Folklore studies is an academic field that rethinks the everyday world to consider culture and society. This lecture aims to understand the contemporary culture of Japan through the "normal things" familiar to us.
The course will study the culture of Japanese society through examples around us from folklore views. This academic year, the course will consider views on “prayer and curse”.

民俗学は日常世界を見つめなおし、文化や社会を考えていく学問である。本講義ではわれわれの身近にある「あたりまえのもの」を通して現代の日本文化を理解することを目標とする。

身の回りにあるさまざまな事例を民俗学の視点からとりあげて、日本の文化について学ぶ。本年度は「イノリとマジナイ」というテーマから見てゆきたい。
