This subject aims to enable students to understand the close relationship between local regions and lifestyles, based on specific examples.
This class will consider descriptions of the areas formed through the relationship between the natural environment and human phenomena. First, the course will hold lectures on methods of analyzing important concepts and regions in regional geography. Next, using regions in Japan (mainly in the Kanto Tohoku regions) as examples, the course will take up and describe themes that symbolize the regions.

この科目は、具体的な事例に基づいて地域と生活の密接な関係を理解できるようになることを目標とする。
This subject aims to enable students to understand the close relationship between local regions and lifestyles, based on specific examples.
授業では、自然環境と人文事象が関わって形成された地域の記述を考察する。まず、地誌学における重要な概念や地域の分析方法を講義する。次に、日本（主に関東地方・東北地方）の各地域を事例として、その地域を象徴するテーマを取り上げて解説する。
