① To examine the relationship between Japan and Korea within the context of postwar East Asian history, and to acquire fundamental knowledge of the modern history of both countries.
② To deepen critical thinking on core issues in postwar Japanese thought—including peace, democracy, and the Korean resident (Zainichi) question—through close reading of texts by Seo Kyung-sik, while understanding the significance of learning from intellectual thought.
③ To gain knowledge of actual Japan-Korea civil society exchanges through visits to grassroots history museums, and to cultivate perspectives for observing and analyzing social education practices.
The foundation of this course is close reading of texts and discussion. Students are also expected to produce high-quality summary reports (résumés). Additionally, multiple fieldwork sessions will be conducted throughout the semester. I want students to experience firsthand how effective it is for learning not only to read literature but also to actually visit sites and engage with real-world contexts. Furthermore, regular book reports will be assigned to cultivate reading habits and improve writing skills.

このゼミでは、真剣な議論を重視する。現代社会の諸問題に真摯に向き合う姿勢、テキストの丁寧な予習、多くの文献の読解と調査など、相応の学習努力が求められる。また、ゼミをコミュニティとして維持していくために、メンバーとして主体的に参加する責任感も必須である。
「Canvas LMS」を常に意識しておくように。
①日本と韓国の関係性を東アジアの戦後史のなかで考察し、両国の現代史に関する基礎的知識を習得する。
②徐京植のテキストを読解し、平和・民主主義・在日朝鮮人問題など戦後日本思想の核心的課題について考察を深めるとともに、知識人の思想に学ぶ意義を理解する。
③草の根の歴史博物館の見学を通じて、日韓市民社会交流の実際を知り、社会教育実践を観察・分析する視点を養う。

授業の基本は、テキストの精読とディスカッションである。質の高いレジュメ作成も目指すところである。また、学期中には複数回のフィールドワークを行う。文献を読むだけでなく、実際に現場に足を運ぶことが学びにとっていかに有効か、体感してもらいたい。加えて、読書習慣の定着と文章力の向上を目的として、定期的にブックレポートを課す。
