In this seminar, we will try to have a critical perspective on the form and nature of education that we take for granted today. We will also learn how to find the answers to these questions in chronological order.
This exercise covers not only the "history of the education system" and the "history of the school," but also the "history of education," including the tools used in the classroom as well as in educational activities outside the classroom. We will consider these issues in line with the interests of the participants. The aim is to review from a historical perspective the way of education that has become common and "natural" today, and the way of education that the participants themselves have experienced and taken for granted.
First, the participants will share their basic understanding of the history of education in Japan. Then, each participant will choose a theme based on his/her own interests. Participants will refine their own interests through presentations and discussions among themselves.
Through the exercises, I hope that each participant will find an answer to the question of what it means to look at and think about education from a historical perspective, and what we are aiming for.

我々がいま〝当たり前〟と思っている教育の形について、何故このようになっているのか、という問いを見つけ、時系列に沿ってその答を探し当てる方法・技術を身につける。
In this seminar, we will try to have a critical perspective on the form and nature of education that we take for granted today. We will also learn how to find the answers to these questions in chronological order.
「教育制度の歴史」や「学校の歴史」だけではなく、授業で用いられる教具に加えて、授業以外の教育活動で用いる道具＝モノも含めた「教育の歴史」を、受講者の興味関心に沿いながら考えてゆく。今日一般化し、「当たり前」となっている教育のあり方、受講者自らが経験してきて「当たり前」と受け止めている教育のあり方を、歴史的な視点から見直してゆくことを目指す。
日本の教育史に関わる通史的理解を共有しつつ、その上で受講者各自の興味関心に基づく個別問題を抽出し、受講者同士の発表や議論を通じて、それぞれの問題関心を磨き上げる。
歴史的視点から教育をみる、考えるということはどういうことなのか、何を目指すのか、演習を通して受講者各自の〝解〟を見つけ出してほしい。
