In this seminar, students will familiarize themselves with reading classic texts related to the history of educational thought by reading Montaigne's texts, which influenced Rousseau's educational thought. Also, from this reading, Montaigne deepens his consideration of how human beings thought to live better.
First, students will read basic literature on the history of educational thought and establish a foundation for their research. Next, students will read secondary literature to gain a basic understanding of Montaigne's ideas. We will then examine the text Montaigne wrote.

当該のテーマについて複数の文献を考察し、自分なりのまとめを行ったプレゼンテーションの準備が毎回必要になる。報告レジュメの一次稿は報告の1週間前までに準備し、コメンテーターはこの一次稿に対するコメントを次週までに準備する（各回4時間以上）。事後は全受講者が授業内容を振り返り、毎回小レポートを提出する（各回1時間程度）。

ルソーの教育思想に影響を与えたモンテーニュのテクストを講読することで、教育思想史に関わる古典的なテクストを読むことに習熟する。また、文献講読から、モンテーニュは、人間がより善く生きることをどのように考えていたのかについての考察を深める。
In this seminar, students will familiarize themselves with reading classic texts related to the history of educational thought by reading Montaigne's texts, which influenced Rousseau's educational thought. Also, from this reading, Montaigne deepens his consideration of how human beings thought to live better.
まず、教育思想史研究に関する基礎的な文献を講読し、研究の基礎を固める。次に、モンテーニュの思想の基礎理解を図るための二次文献を輪読する。その後で、モンテーニュの『エセー』のいくつかの章を抽出して輪読する。
First, students will read basic literature on the history of educational thought and establish a foundation for their research. Next, students will read secondary literature to gain a basic understanding of Montaigne's ideas. We will then examine the text Montaigne wrote.
