This course aims to cultivate the following competencies:
1) Students will understand the formative significance of “travel” as discussed by Montaigne.
2) Students will be able to apply Ingold's anthropological perspective on “education” to research in the history of educational thought and educational philosophy.
3) Students will develop the ability to read and analyze substantial research texts of considerable depth and breadth.
4) Students will acquire fundamental thesis writing skills and literature search abilities, preparing them for their graduation thesis.
1) Students will continue reading selected passages from Montaigne's Essays from the spring semester.
2) Students will read Ingold's text.
3) Students will read a cultural anthropologist's monograph on the theme of the pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela in Spain.

毎時間、指定された文献を読了しておき、文献から得られた知見を発言できるようにすること（毎回2時間以上）。レポーターは、報告レジュメを準備する（毎回4時間以上）。授業後は、小レポートを提出してもらう（毎回1時間以上）。また、その日の授業で扱われた内容から、どのような期末レポートを執筆するかを検討する必要がある（毎回1時間以上）。

1）モンテーニュが論じた、「旅」の人間形成的意義を理解する。
2）人類学者であるインゴルドが論じた「教育」を、教育思想史・教育哲学研究に援用することができるようになる。
3）質量ともにボリュームのある研究書を講読することができるようになる。
4）卒業論文の執筆を前提とした基本的な論文作成能力、文献検索能力を身につける。
