In this class, we will introduce what comparative pedagogy is, its significance and current state of education in Japan and Southeast Asia. When considering and discussing educational issues and policies, there is much to learn from the experiences of other countries. The goal of this class is to consider various educational issues while also deepening our understanding of Southeast Asian society and culture.
In this class, we will mainly introduce the current situation and research results on education (especially gender, Islam and education) in Southeast Asia, as well as their related history, and compare them with the situation in Japan.

この授業では、比較教育学とは何か、その意義や現状について、日本と東南アジアにおける教育の状況や課題について紹介する。教育問題や教育政策を考察・議論するときには，他国の経験から学ぶべきことは多い。この授業では、東南アジアの社会や文化への理解も深めながら、さまざまな教育問題について考えることを目標とする。
In this class, we will introduce what comparative pedagogy is, its significance and current state of education in Japan and Southeast Asia. この授業では、主として東南アジアの教育（特にジェンダー、イスラームと教育）に関する現状や研究成果を紹介し、それらに関連する歴史とともに、日本の状況との比較をしながら解説していく。
