【Course Objectives】

Students will be introduced to the concept of comparative pedagogy, its significance and the current situation of the field. And when considering and discussing educational issues and educational policies, by looking at educational experiences of other countries, students can shine new light on their understandings. Also, by looking at results of comparative pedagogy, regarding other countries and regions, students should aim for a deeper understanding of not only education but also society and culture.

【Course Contents】

Along with looking at comparative educational theories and methods continuing from “Comparative Education 1,” students will be introduced to the current situation and issues in the field. Furthermore, students will be introduced to the main results of comparative pedagogy in specific detail. The educational methods and various relevant issues of different countries and regions will be eligible for research, but various developing countries outside Europe and the Americas will be the primary focused during the lectures.
