This course aims to study “philosophical dialogue” in education and philosophy of education from both theoretical and practical perspectives. On the theoretical side, students will read and understand classic works by theorists who shaped the intellectual origins of philosophical dialogue, as well as the latest research articles. On the practical side, students will develop the ability to plan and facilitate philosophical dialogue as a moderator/facilitator.
In the first half of each class, there will be a lecture designed to help students understand the ideas and theories of key thinkers who shaped the intellectual origins of philosophical dialogue. In the second half, students will engage in practical work and complete exercises aimed at developing the skills needed to facilitate and conduct philosophical dialogue as a moderator/facilitator.

本授業の目標は、教育学や教育哲学における「哲学対話」について、理論と実践の両面から学ぶことにある。理論面では、哲学対話の源流を形成した理論家/思想家の古典および英語圏における最新の研究論文を読み、理解すること。実践面では、哲学対話の進行役・ファシリテーターとして哲学対話を実施できるようになること。そのそれぞれが本授業の目標となる。

授業の前半では、哲学対話の源流を形成した理論家・思想家の考えや理論を理解するための講義・読解を行う。後半では、哲学対話の進行役・ファシリテーターとして哲学対話を実施できるようになるための実践的な演習を行う。
