Contemporary Issues in Education 1 examines modern Korean education from a historical perspective, focusing on its fundamental systems and policies through specific case studies. The course is structured around thematic "questions," with each session consisting of an explanation provided by the instructor followed by discussions to deepen understanding.
The objectives of this course are as follows:
(1) To develop a deeper understanding of the historical background of Korean education.
(2) To grasp the characteristics of Korea's educational systems and policies.
(3) To systematically understand the transformations and reforms in Korea's modern education.

履修者の関心や希望に応じて授業計画は変更する場合がある。韓国の教育現場で行われている教育政策や実践について、資料を豊富に用いて紹介し、日本の教育政策や実践とも比較をする。積極的に授業に参加し、気軽に討論の輪にも加わってほしい。
現代教育の諸問題1では、現代韓国の教育を歴史的視点から捉え、その基本的な制度や政策について具体的な事例を交えながら講義します。授業では、各テーマごとに「問い」を設定し、それに基づいて教員が解説を行い、その後、学生同士の討論を通じて理解を深める形で進めます。

（3）韓国の近代教育の変遷や改革について体系的に理解すること。
