By the end of this course, students will be able to:
1. Analyze education policies and systems critically from the perspectives of educational welfare and human dignity.
2. Identify and examine the values and social assumptions underlying contemporary education policies.
3. Use Korean education policies and practices as case studies to analyze current educational issues from multiple perspectives.
4. Develop the ability to evaluate and envision education policies, rather than accepting them uncritically.
This course, Contemporary Issues in Education, examines modern education from the perspective of educational welfare, focusing on how education can ensure human dignity in contemporary society.
By critically analyzing education policies that have emphasized competition and efficiency, the course explores the meaning and implications of welfare-oriented approaches to education from both theoretical and policy perspectives.
The course mainly uses Korean education policies and practices as case studies.
Each session is organized around key questions, followed by lectures and discussions, enabling students to examine educational systems within their social and historical contexts.

本講義の到達目標は、以下の点にある。
1. 教育政策や教育制度を、教育福祉および人間の尊厳の観点から批判的に捉える視点を身につける。
2. 教育政策がどのような価値観や社会的前提に基づいて形成されてきたのかを読み解く力を養う。
3. 韓国の教育政策・教育実践を事例として、現代教育の課題を多角的に分析し、自らの判断を形成する力を培う。
4. 教育政策を「与えられたもの」として受け取るのではなく、評価し、構想する対象として考察する姿勢を身につける。

本講義「現代教育の諸問題1」では、教育福祉の視点から現代教育を捉え直し、教育が人間の尊厳をどのように保障しうるのかを中心的なテーマとして扱う。
とりわけ、競争や効率性を重視してきた近年の韓国の教育政策を批判的に検討し、福祉的アプローチが教育政策および教育実践においてどのような意味を持ちうるのかを、理論と政策の両面から考察する。
講義では、主に韓国の教育政策および教育実践を具体的事例として取り上げ、各回ごとに設定された「問い」を軸に、教員による解説と受講者同士の討論を通して授業を進める。
政策や制度を単なる知識として理解するのではなく、それらが置かれてきた社会的・歴史的文脈に注目しながら、多角的に検討する。
