In contemporary society, education is a key point for social mechanisms and their changes. The more students deepen their understanding of education, the more they deepen their understanding of social mechanisms and their changes. By shining light on the Christianity as well as other religious issues related to education, students will consider the place and role of Christianity and other religions in modern society.
Students will choose a religious topic mainly related to Christianity from the various issues surrounding education. Japan is a part of Asia, and religious education issues in Asia will be referred to as much as possible. Especially in this academic year, the class is expected to emphasize discussing mission schools and Christian schools in Japan.

現代社会において，教育は，社会の仕組みやその変化のキーポイントとなってきた。教育の理解が深まれば深まるほど，社会の仕組みやその変化の理解が深まる。こうした教育と関わるキリスト教ならびに宗教的な問題に光をあてることで，現代社会におけるキリスト教と宗教の位置や役割を考察したい。

教育をめぐる諸問題のなかで，キリスト教を中心に宗教と関わるテーマを選び解題してゆく。日本の属するアジアにおける宗教教育の問題にも可能な限り言及したいと考えているが，とりわけ今年度は，日本におけるミッション・スクールとキリスト教学校のあり方についての議論に重点をおく予定である。
