In learning the outline of the (pre-modern)history of Japan, students will gain basic knowledge relating to Japanese history and further develop a historical way of looking at things.
While outlining the history of Japan from the prehistoric and ancient eras to the early modern era, this course will explain or introduce approaches to different eras, important matters and research trends. When necessary, we will also look at ways to examine historical sources, and search for literature. These aspects will be taken up in order to enhance students' expertise in Japanese history.

日本史（前近代史）の流れを学ぶ中で日本史に関する基本的な知識を身につけ、歴史的なものの見方などを深めていく。
In learning the outline of the (pre-modern)history of Japan, students will gain basic knowledge relating to Japanese history and further develop a historical way of looking at things.
原始古代から近世まで歴史の流れを追いながら時代のとらえ方や重要事項、研究動向などを解説、紹介していく。史料の調べ方、文献の探し方なども随時取り上げ日本史に関する専門性を高めていく。
