Students will acquire a basic understanding of purpose, goal, and content of elementary school Painting and Handwork classes in line with government course guidelines.
Students will learn a teaching method of to respect the children's Creativity and Individuality and to facilitate expression, and become competent in arranging classes appropriate.
Based on the Elementary School Curriculum Guidelines, the students learn about the learning arenas of “expression”, “appreciation”, and “common matters”, as well as the goals and study contents set up for respective school year. Then, they independently prepare a teaching plan and organize a mock lesson.
The students also learn about how to study teaching materials, write curriculum guidelines, establish annual teaching plans, and assess children’s progress.

小学校図画工作科の意義や目標、学習内容について学習指導要領に即して理解する。
子どもの創造性や個性を尊重し、表現を促すための方法を学び、授業設計を行う能力を身につける。

小学校学習指導要領をもとに、領域「表現」、「鑑賞」、「共通事項」と各学年の目標と内容について学びながら、受講者が自ら指導計画を立て、模擬授業を行う。
教材研究、学習指導要領の書き方、年間指導計画の立て方、評価方法等についても学ぶ。
