Gain experiential understanding of the ecological nature and human history, culture, and industry of a specific overseas region, along with the challenges involved in building a sustainable society aligned with SDG goals. Acquire the skills to compile this understanding into a report and develop an ESD (Environmental Education) perspective for devising solutions to these challenges.
Visit densely populated residential areas (Khlong Toei slum) in Bangkok, Thailand, and the Akha ethnic village of Mae Chang Thai in the northern mountainous region.
Gain an understanding of the local lifestyle, industries, history, culture, and nature while interacting with the community to identify challenges related to the SDGs in these areas. Following preparatory learning (intensive lectures), conduct a field survey lasting approximately 5 nights and 6 days. After the field survey, each participant will prepare a final report.
The first half involves visiting densely populated residential areas in Bangkok, Thailand. Participants will receive an explanation from the Sikkha Asia Foundation about the area's history and current situation, observe their employment support for residents and educational support for children, and practice “Philosophy for Children (P4C)” with children at a local “Community Library.” The latter half involves visiting Mae Chang Thai Village in Thailand's mountainous region, home to the Akha ethnic minority. Participants will observe and investigate UN activities that transformed this area, formerly used for cannabis cultivation, into coffee and tea cultivation and roasting. They will interact and exchange views with local people. The aim is to experience the diversity of cultures and lifestyles within Thailand while identifying challenges related to the SDGs.

海外の或る地域の生態学的自然と人間の歴史・文化・産業、および、SDGsの目標に即した持続可能な社会を構築していくための課題を体験的に理解して、さらに、それを報告書にまとめ上げるスキルを習得し、課題を解決するための方策を構想するためのESD（環境教育）的な視座を獲得する。

タイのバンコクの人口密集居住地（クロントイ・スラム）と、北部山岳地帯に位置するアカ民族のメーチャンタイ村を訪問し、その地域の生活、産業、歴史・文化、自然について理解し、地域の人々と交流しながら、その地域のSDGsに関連する課題を発見する。事前学習（集中講義）を経て、6 泊7 日程度の現地調査を行い、現地調査後に個々人が最終レポートを作成する。
前半は、タイのバンコクの人口密集居住地では、シーカーアジア財団による当該地域の歴史と現状の説明、住民への就労支援と子どものたちの教育支援について見学し、現地の「コミュニティ図書館」で子どもたちと「子どもの哲学」を実践する。後半は、タイ山岳部の少数民族アカ民族が住むメーチャンタイ村を訪問し、かつて大麻を栽培していた当該地域で、コーヒーや茶栽培と焙煎へと変換させた国連の活動を見学・調査し、現地の人々と交流・意見交換をする。タイのなかの文化と生活の多様性を実感しながら、そこにSDGsに関わる課題を見出すことを目的とする。
