- Develop familiarity with recurring tropes and concerns in literary approaches to crime and criminality
- Hone skills for critically analyzing and presenting independent interpretation of literature
This course looks at the ways that “crime” and "criminality" have been imagined, challenged, and even committed in literatures across the world. Through close reading and attention to socio-historical backgrounds, we will explore the roles that fiction plays in shaping complex issues like morality, guilt, and punishment.
