The goal is for students to deepen their understanding of art and artists, and to be able to express their own ideas about the relationship between art and social institutions, economics, and science and technology.
In this class, students will learn about the birth of "Bijutsu" in Japan and its expansion into "Geijutsu(=art)", and examine contemporary art from various perspectives as it has become increasingly diverse in expression.
furthermore, we will invite artists who are active in the contemporary art scene and learn about their daily lives, their work, and their artworks.
In addition to lectures by lecturer, guest artists will give lectures, hold discussions, and conduct workshops to enable students to experience art in a multifaceted manner.

「美術」と「アート」と「アーティスト」についての理解を深め、社会制度や経済、科学技術とアートの関係について自分の考えを述べることができるようになる。
The goal is for students to deepen their understanding of art and artists, and to be able to express their own ideas about the relationship between art and social institutions, economics, and science and technology.
この授業では「美術」と「アート」と「アーティスト」をテーマに、日本で「美術」が誕生してから「芸術＝アート」へと拡張していく流れを学び、デジタル社会において表現が多様化した現代のアートを様々な視点から考察する。また、現代において活躍しているアーティストを招聘し、アーティストの生態や仕事の内容、作品について理解を学ぶ。
なお、本授業は講師による講義だけでなく、ゲスト・アーティストのレクチャー、ディスカッション、ワークショップの実施により、アートを複合的に体感できるようにする（履修者数によって判断する）。
